These past couple of weeks have been really good for the C-Team. Last Saturday, Dexter and I headed up to Oklahoma City to wrestle at the Indoor Fun Fair. I got a chance to work with some guys I usually don't get to, including "Bad" Brad Michaels and Angel Williams. Both of those men are top-notch performers and all-around good people, in my opinion. My good friend Anarchy even made a couple of appearances up there. The following weekend, I debuted in SRPW at the Tulsa Fun Fair. I finally got to step in the ring with the incomparable Brandon Groom. Despite his opinion that my nose would look better broken, he and I had a series of good matches. Brandon is definitely the next guy in this area to get picked up, and he deserves it. I also got to spend some time with old friends I hadn't seen in a while, which was good for me.

You may have noticed the new graphic on the front page and wonder "Whazzamahuh?" Might also be wondering what the black armband was for. As many people know, I was into that whole "backyard" thing before I became a wrestler. I'll be the first to admit I even took it a little (ie WAY) too seriously at some times, but I knew it wasn't going to get me anywhere. It was fun, a hobby. Then, I got trained. It was an exciting time for me, because I was doing something with my life, you know? I could say "I'm done playing in some guy's backyard, time to get serious." And what do you know? We get brought in as two backyard wrestlers "invading" the pros. Apparently, I'm supposed to owe my life to certain people because of this, as it got me shoved in front of a crowd WAY before I was ready, but oh well. At that time, wrestling was kind of a "hobby." I wasn't going to throw a fit and get things changed, that's how 145 lbs rookies get beaten severely. Then, I started thinking more about my future in the wrestling business. Where I was at, where I COULD go, blah blah blah. The guy who trained me gets sent to OVW, other companies start asking me to work, kind of got the gears rolling. Like I've said before, I don't plan on being the next big thing in wrestling, but I'm going to try. And in order to succeed, I had to take it to the next level. No more wrestling as a hobby, no more backyard ties. Just me. Kenny. So, I guess you could say that the armband is for back when things were simple. Back when everything was cool. No heat, no drama, just some kid having fun. But enough of that. Living in the past won't make you any better. Time to think of the future.

Droppin' it off,
Kenny Campbell, T.G.F.T.
