I was too lazy to write this week
Ok, normally I wouldn't do this, but I just read CM Burnham's column about the review of the most recent TPW show. He had some pretty harsh things to say about me, so I think it's only fair that I respond. First, he claims my TPW/TLL win loss record is one of the worst. I admit it's not great, but I have only suffered one clean loss in about 9 months, and that was to Rocco Valentino in Kansas. All my other losses were a direct result of John Davis refereeing, or causing a distraction so someone else could interfere. The FACT is, I have won my last 2 singles matches, and I believe its fair to say that when the odds were finally evened, I proved that I can beat the Canadian luchador. As far as my loss on Friday goes, not only was I hit from behind with a bell hammer, but I was pinned by the ILLEGAL man. Those are the FACTS, but, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Life has been interesting to me to say the least. Where I will be this time next year could be interesting as well. The opportunity has once again presented itself for me to move to Colorado and teach martial arts. Right now, there is a lot holding me here, but that could all change tomorrow. (2 hours later) I just watched "Cool Hand Luke." It has to be one of the all time greatest movies. One of the 5 greatest movie monologues ever in my opinion is the scene where Luke, who just escaped prison for the 3rd time, is held up in a small abandoned church, with the cops outside about to arrest him again. He decided to finally talk have one last conversation with God. "Hey old man, you home tonight? (continues
walking) Can ya spare a minute, it's about time we had a
little talk. I know I'm a pretty evil fellow; killed people
in the war an'..got drunk and...chewed up municipal property
and the like, I know I got no call to ask for much, but even
so, you gotta admit you ain't dealt me no cards in a long
time...From here, it looks like, you got things fixed so I
can never win out! Inside, outside, all them...rules, and
regulations, and bosses. You made me like I am! So just,
where am I supposed to fit in? Old man, I gotta tell ya...I
started out pretty strong and fast. But it's beginning to
get to me. When did it end? What do ya got in mind for me?
What do I do now? (long silence) All right. All
right. (kneels) On my knees, asking...(closes
eyes, prays, after a while, he opens one eye, looks up
half-smiling). Yeah, that's what I thought... .I guess
I'm pretty tough to deal with, huh? A hard case...yeah, I
guess I gotta find my own way." If you have never seen this movie, you are
missing out. Paul Newman's best film in my
opinion. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance
Kid" would be a close second. "Slap
Shot" would have to be 3rd. "Slap Shot"
is the greatest hockey movie ever. It upset me that
they made the sequel to Slap Shot with that Baldwin
brother. It's just one of those movies that you didn't
need to make a sequel to. The Hanson triplets were
great characters. I did enjoy "The
Hustler" more than "Color of Money."
Tom Cruise just annoyed me in that film. I have
seen "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" but I don't really
consider to be one of the all time great films like most
people. Same with "The Sting." Over
all though, I am a big Paul Newman fan. As far as wrestling goes, nothing much to report. Everyone is excited about this new arena for TPW. Great crowd on hand Friday night. Check out the pictures on the pictures section. |
